Digital Content Coordinator
ALPA, the largest airline pilot union and non-governmental aviation safety organization, seeks a Digital Content Coordinator for its Memphis, Tennessee office. This role supports the FedEx Master Executive Council’s (MEC) Communications Committee and the Association’s Communications Department by developing and executing digital content strategy, product development, and project coordination to enhance member engagement across digital and print platforms.
About the role
The Digital Content Coordinator amplifies communications on behalf of the MEC, Local Executive Councils (LECs), and MEC-based committees by updating MEC websites, assisting with mass email communications, and promoting content on social media. Working collaboratively with MEC Officers, Communications Committee leadership, IT staff, and colleagues in other offices, this role exercises independent judgment to identify improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and develop innovative communications products aligned with strategic objectives.
Travel: 5–10%.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute digital content strategy, including continuous improvement of digital communications products, workflows, and member engagement.
- Maintain and update MEC websites, email communications, social media channels, and other ALPA digital platforms.
- Design digital and print materials from concept to execution, including email design and maintenance.
- Manage projects, including coordinating with vendors and consultants as needed.
- Quality control text documents for web and email distribution.
- Test and troubleshoot software to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with MEC Officers, Communications Committee leadership, IT staff, and other colleagues to advance digital goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Minimum three years of experience in digital content strategy, website development, and/or digital design (five or more years strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with Content Management Systems (CMS) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, XD, Acrobat, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Dreamweaver).
- Experience designing for both print and digital media with a proven record of success.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Responsive Web Design (W3.CSS), and familiarity with other markup/programming languages.
- Experience with email platforms and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills with a command of grammar, syntax, and usage.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, take direction from multiple sources, and meet deadlines.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical documents and information.
- Experience with audio and video editing software is a plus.
- Familiarity with new technologies and software for enhancing text, photographs, and graphics.
- Knowledge of labor-related issues preferred.
Physical Demands
- Constant computer/smartphone/tablet use with acute and discriminating vision (corrected or uncorrected).
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the office for extended periods.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, or pulling to move items up to 10 lbs.
- While traveling, may need to lift or move luggage weighing up to 50 lbs. (assistance may not always be available).

Pay
Projected annual salary range: $73,625 – $105,108.
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Relocation and sponsorship are not provided.
