About the role
The Digital Communications Specialist informs the public about the impacts of UC ANR research, extension and education through news writing, media outreach and development of digital and multimedia communication products. Along with writing and promoting search-friendly stories about the important work UC ANR does to improve the lives of Californians, this key member of the Strategic Communications team brings skills as a seasoned, experienced digital communications professional to support UC ANR websites and social media platforms.Responsibilities
- Develops and implements strategies for digital and multimedia communication products.
- Writes and promotes search-friendly stories about UC ANR's research, extension, and educational impact.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with UC ANR's mission and goals.
- Monitors and analyzes social media metrics to inform strategy and engagement.
- Creates and maintains UC ANR's online presence across various digital platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in digital communications, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Experience with SEO and content optimization.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and other digital tools.
- Experience with Google Analytics and other web analytics tools.
- Knowledge of social media management platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Experience with video production and editing software.
