Digital Collaboration Specialist - University Libraries

About the role

The Digital Collaboration Specialist manages the daily operations of the Digital Collaboration Studio (DCS) in Miller Nichols Library, overseeing the service point, space, and staff, including undergraduate and graduate student assistants. The position also involves providing support for DCS patrons, managing room reservations, overseeing loanable technology, and maintaining departmental websites and LibGuides.

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily operations of the DCS service point.
• Hires, supervises, and mentors undergraduate student workers.
• Oversees graduate research assistants.
• Oversees room reservations in the DCS using LibCal.
• Maintains loanable technology checkout and technology inventory.
• Provides initial training for new users of DCS technology.
• Maintains effective relationships with other departments and staff.
• Contributes to DCS data collection and assessment.
• Documents activities and accomplishments for annual reporting.
• Maintains department website and LibGuide content.
• Assists with administrative planning and execution of events.
• Assists with administrative duties related to the DCS.
• Participates in professional development and service-related activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience in media production or digital scholarship methods.
• The ability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
• A basic understanding of and willingness to learn about digital scholarship, open access, and scholarly communications.
• Supervisory experience or successful experience leading a collaborative team.

Benefits

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $18.08-$21.00/hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. Schedule

40-hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours (0800-1800), in the Digital Collaboration Studio, Room 310 on the 3rd floor of Miller Nichols Library. Routine remote work is rare for this position.
