About the role

The DAM Implementation Manager is a time-limited role focused on the initial implementation, configuration, testing, and operational readiness of Sitecore Content Hub for our client's Web Modernization Initiative, focusing on two early pilot projects. The position translates project needs into scalable metadata, taxonomy, workflow, permissions, and governance requirements while helping teams avoid configuration choices that could create unnecessary rework.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the functional DAM lead for web implementations in partnership with Digital Strategy, project teams, IT, and implementation partners.
  • Gather, document, prioritize, and validate requirements for metadata schemas, taxonomies, asset types, renditions, collections, workflows, permissions, publishing, and distribution.
  • Lead review of proposed configuration decisions for scalability, maintainability, and alignment with likely enterprise needs.
  • Identify choices that could create rework, technical debt, migration constraints, or operational complexity and recommend practical alternatives.
  • Partner with implementation vendors and internal technical teams to configure and validate Sitecore Content Hub capabilities.
  • Develop an initial metadata model, controlled vocabularies, naming conventions, and taxonomy structure that supports web delivery and can scale to additional use cases.
  • Define minimum asset standards for discoverability, accessibility, rights, releases, expiration, reuse, and lifecycle management.
  • Support asset inventory, cleanup, mapping, normalization, and migration planning for priority Clinical and Flagship content.
  • Develop migration strategies including asset deduplication, metadata transformation, version management, URL preservation, and phased migration approaches.
  • Establish quality assurance practices for metadata completeness, duplicate handling, data integrity, and asset status.
  • Optimize metadata and taxonomy to improve search relevancy, asset discoverability, and reuse.
  • Develop and execute test scenarios for asset ingestion, search, selection, transformation, publishing, replacement, expiration, and downstream delivery.
  • Support configuration testing, user acceptance testing, and launch-readiness activities for Content Hub integrations with Sitecore web implementations.
  • Track defects, gaps, dependencies, and decisions through resolution with project teams and implementation partners.
  • Confirm that workflows and governance controls are usable for web editors and content teams without creating unnecessary operational burden.
  • Facilitate structured discovery and hands-on testing with creative, marketing, photography, video, communications, and other stakeholder groups.
  • Translate stakeholder workflows into prioritized requirements and objective test criteria for Content Hub.
  • Assess platform fit, gaps, workarounds, integration needs, adoption risks, and operating implications for broader creative and marketing use.
  • Develop evidence-based recommendations about where Content Hub is viable, where additional configuration or investment would be required, and which needs may remain out of scope.
  • Draft interim governance standards, roles, decision rights, intake processes, and change-control practices appropriate to the implementation phase.
  • Maintain configuration documentation, requirement traceability, decision logs, taxonomy guidance, and operating procedures.
  • Define near-term support, training, stewardship, and escalation needs for launch and early adoption.
  • Recommend a sustainable long-term operating model, staffing approach, governance structure, and transition plan based on implementation experience and evaluation findings.
  • Develop implementation documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer resources to support pilot adoption and transition to long-term operations.
  • Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and recommendations clearly to project leadership and governance groups.
  • Build alignment across web, IT, creative, marketing, and business stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Support organizational change management efforts by helping stakeholders transition from existing file management practices to enterprise DAM workflows.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in library or information science, digital media, communications, marketing, information systems, computer science, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.

    • Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, administering, or optimizing an enterprise DAM platform for web applications.
    • Demonstrated experience gathering requirements and translating business workflows into metadata, taxonomy, permissions, governance, and configuration decisions.
    • Experience with asset migration, metadata mapping and normalization, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, or platform launch readiness.
    • Strong understanding of DAM principles, metadata design, taxonomy development, asset lifecycle management, and digital governance.
    • Working knowledge of digital rights, licensing, releases, privacy, accessibility, AI-assisted content management, metadata generation, governance considerations, and information security considerations for digital assets.
