About the role

As an Equipment Technician at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, you’ll perform functions associated with manufacturing and/or system operations, including working with engineers and manufacturing on set-up, calibration, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, and documenting standard operating procedures. You’ll also handle rework and quality testing for memory chips and logic production. Using sophisticated programs, you’ll collect and evaluate operating data to make in-line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. You may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance following detailed SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Monitor and respond to abnormal equipment signals.
  • Work with senior personnel and engineers to perform troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance.
  • Correct and generate SOPs when required.
  • Train junior technicians as needed.
  • Send and receive parts from clean or repair.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree, equivalent military experience, or 5–10 years of direct applicable semiconductor experience in high-volume manufacturing facilities.
  • AMAT Centura 5200 experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and gas panel.
  • High-volume fabrication experience.
  • Ability to follow SOPs.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • High level of initiative and desire to learn.
  • Prior experience with 5s and LEAN methodologies.

Pay

The current base salary range for this role is $18.60/hour – $60.40/hour. Individual base pay rates depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications, and experience. Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs based on organizational and individual performance.

Schedule

  • Day Shifts:
    • A Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45am – 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays.
    • C Shift – Thursday through Saturday (6:45am – 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays.
  • Night Shifts:
    • B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays.
    • D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays.
