Position Summary: Provides nutritional care of individuals in health or disease, applying the science and art of human nutrition.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates and negotiates with investigators in planning and implementing research studies, including literature review.
- Aids in obtaining and evaluating nutrition histories from subjects, covering food habits.
- Might involve contacting families to plan nutrition aspects of studies well in advance of admission dates.
- Designs diets for research studies according to the project's plan, taking into account nutritional principles, subjects' needs, and preferences.
- Supervises the service of regular and clinical diets for studies that don't require balance procedures.
- Supervises Research Dietetic Assistants in the production and service of research diets with appropriate controls.
- Makes necessary changes to diet or procedures as needed.
- Develops innovative recipes, which may require unusual products or combinations.
- Aids in preparing food aliquots for laboratory analysis as required by research study protocols.
- Interacts with medical students, house officers, fellows, and investigators.
- Counsels and educates patients and families to meet requirements for continued nutritional care.
- Performs other duties as required or as workload changes.

Education
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree - Dietetics
Preferred Qualifications: M.S. - Master of Science

Adult or Pediatric Dietetics: 2 years

Salary Range
$58,300.00 - $90,400.00 / Annually
