Summary

Dietitians in this assignment serve as a Facility Program Coordinator leading a Multidisciplinary team. They are administratively responsible for specialty programs and provide program-specific leadership - guidance and direction - technical advice - and staff development.

Grade Determinations

All individuals assigned to this occupation must meet all the basic qualification requirements and all the requirements defined in the specific assignment. GS 12 Level which is Above the Full Performance Level.

Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional

  • Manages all aspects of the Program for the facility - assuming local compliance with national policy and direction
  • Coordinates with the multidisciplinary team to develop local goals
  • Measures progress toward the goals and reports to the appropriate officials at a local - VISN and national level
  • Serves as the Professional and technical advisor for their programs
  • Promotes and maintains effective working relationships with all facility and significant parties at the national - state local level
  • Directs or participates in the design of studies - collects data - conducts statistical analysis - interprets findings - and translates results into written and oral communication
  • Determines the continuing education needs of programs and staff and appropriate resources to meet those needs
  • Establishes and manages program goals and objectives
  • Plans and administers programs - coordinates associated activities and resources - evaluates program accomplishments redefines - priorities - problem solves - and modifies objectives
  • Takes and active role in fiscal management for the program - identifying resource needs that may include staffing - supplies - and contracts ect
  • Maintains program information through approved Social Media outlets
  • May perform other duties as assigned which are appropriate for this GS Grade Level

Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Pay

  • Competitive salary and regular salary increases
  • When setting pay - a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade)

Paid Time Off

37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave - 13 days of sick leave - 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
