Food Program Coordinator

Essential Functions

• Oversee the procurement and inventory of in-kind donations.
• Complete reporting for in-kind donations.
• Manage the corps food pantry, Salvation Army daily food market, holiday meal program and other programs as requested.
• Oversee intake for food programs.
• Ensure daily pickups for food donations are made.
• Assist with the cooling and warming center as needed.
• Actively recruit, orient and manage volunteers to support food programs.
• Work with Corps Officer(s) to achieve goals of the corps strategic plan.
• Assist with Christmas Food Pantry.
• Assist with Christmas Kettles and Angel Tree Operations.
• Implement strategies that build awareness of the corps as an active and vital member of the Jefferson City Community.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe From Harm guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent with program coordination experience.
• Combination of training and experience will be considered.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a working knowledge of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database and e-mail.
• Must be a team player, self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision.
• Ability to efficiently and effectively manage several projects at one time.
• Ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, especially during the Christmas Campaign.
• Able to work additional hours as needed (i.e. during the Christmas campaign).

Physical and Working Conditions

• Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include: using a computer, answering phones, etc.
• Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
