About the role

Join Kayser Janesville Chevrolet Buick GMC as a skilled Diesel Technician in Janesville, WI. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines to ensure optimal performance and safety. You will work with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver top-quality service to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and related components.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
• Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
• Maintain detailed service records and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and provide excellent customer service.
• Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning.
• Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed.
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
• A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to work in Janesville, WI.
• High school diploma, or equivalent and a technical automotive degree is preferred.
• Basic Computer skills.
• Tools/toolbox.
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality.
• Enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.

Pay

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $35.00 to $45.00, paid semi-monthly.
