Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, offering a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

Pay

  • Hourly pay: $27.92 per hour
  • Certification bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday
  • Weekends off
  • Second shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or technical certification (preferred)
  • Post-secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
  • Basic tools (required)
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
    • Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
  • Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred)
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Must pass:
    • Ryder drug test
    • DOT physical
    • Ryder road test
    • Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)

Responsibilities

  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs
  • Performs preventive maintenance
  • Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable
  • Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required
  • Replaces defective components as instructed
  • Performs facility maintenance duties
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Works in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Performs other support duties as required, including Service Island support
