Diesel Technician Apprentice

About the role

Diesel Apprentices at Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. They interact with customers and drivers from all over, enhancing their travel experiences. The apprentice program is designed for individuals who are mechanically inclined but may not have professional experience. Throughout the program, apprentices will gain hands-on knowledge in various areas including electrical, air conditioning, heating, wheel end assembly, air systems, air brakes, charging systems, and more.

Responsibilities

- Assist customers with roadside services - Learn and perform preventative maintenance services - Move, lift up to 75 pounds in close quarters - Operate in various temperature conditions - Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction, adhering to company safety policies and procedures - Work a rotating schedule that includes both day and night shifts - Obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation (paid by Love’s)

Requirements

- Mechanical aptitude - No prior professional experience required

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent - Valid driver’s license - Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

- Strong mechanical skills - Good communication and customer service abilities - Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments
