Diesel Technician Apprentice

About the role

Diesel Apprentices at Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores work in a dynamic and supportive environment. They assist customers with roadside services, learn preventative maintenance services, and perform various diagnostic and repair tasks on vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services
• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Perform electrical, air conditioning/heating, wheel end assembly, air system, air brakes, charging system, basic computer diagnostics, parts lookup, and auxiliary component replacement
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed
• Always prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while adhering to company safety policies and procedures

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined
• No prior professional experience required, as training will be provided
• Ability to move, lift up to 75 pounds, and work in close quarters and various temperatures
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation (paid by Love’s)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a background check
