Diesel Mechanic Technician

Role Overview

Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and maintenance vehicles. Ensures compliance with State and Federal trucking regulations and maintains thorough documentation of all repairs and parts used. Performs road call services as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections, repairs, and component replacements, including brakes, steering, and refrigeration systems.
  • Ensure equipment is roadworthy, licensed, and registered.
  • Use hand and power tools, perform electrical troubleshooting, and install onboard computers.
  • Complete detailed work orders via online management systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and battery checks.
  • Train other employees and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5-7 years of proven experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and A/C refrigeration (minimum 2 years).
  • Proficiency with computerized diagnostics and electronic component repair.
  • Ability to use various hand and power tools.
