Diesel Mechanic
About the role
R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic at their Colonial Heights, VA Service Center. The role involves daily maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
- Handle both preventative maintenance and major repairs on diesel engines.
- Work with AC and electrical systems as required.
- Lift up to 50 lbs as part of the job.
- Use Cetaris for work order management.
- Perform trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
- Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
- Able to handle major repairs.
- Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Own tools for the job.
- Two years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
- Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines.
- Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
- Experience with trailer PMs and repairs.
Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay and Schedule
Earn up to $37.60 per hour, full-time, Monday - Friday, 2nd and 3rd shifts. PTO available after 90 calendar days of employment.
