Responsibilities
- Prepare and repair Hemodialysis equipment for treatments and use.
- Maintain, emergency repair, and service of equipment.
- Disassemble, repair/replace defective parts, reassemble, adjust, and calibrate precision components.
- Analyze and isolate mechanical or electronic malfunctions.
- Inspect and test equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities.
- Perform preventive maintenance and quality control.
- Conduct staff teaching and in-services.
- Clean and sanitize equipment using appropriate agents.
- Familiarize and maintain knowledge of dialysis water system, DOH regulations, and dialysis.
- Adhere to internal controls established for the department.
- Collect water samples, perform water testing for chlorine, mix bicarb bath solution, record all work performed, including results of tests, diagnoses, and repairs.
- Demonstrate concern for cleanliness of self, tools, and work area.
- Store and stock equipment safely and clearly date.
- Follow infection control guidelines as per Hemodialysis guidelines.
- Avoid non-compliance with Department of Health and manufacturer’s recommendations for environmental standards.
- Transport equipment.
- Respond to equipment problems of home patients as needed.
- Respond to all duties and tasks in a timely manner.
- Set up bedside machines.
- Be available to work on-call shifts as needed.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma.
- Certification in Fresenius H/K/T Machines.
- Certification in water treatment.
- Experience working with RO systems.
