About the role

The Dialysis Certified Patient Care Technician (CCHT) at Dialysis Clinic, Inc. supports the nonprofit mission to provide personalized care for patients with end-stage renal disease. This position involves active participation in infection control, risk management, and patient education, guiding new patients through a 120-day education plan, and performing various tasks under RN supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in infection control, risk management, and patient education activities
  • Guide new patients through a 120-day education plan
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
  • Set up and break down dialysis blood systems for treatment
  • Insert and remove patient access needles
  • Maintain professional working relationships, observing patient privacy and rights
  • Maintain and track inventory
  • Perform laboratory work

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Desire to collaborate with care teams
  • Ability to problem solve
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred
  • CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT, and/or phlebotomy skills desired
  • DCI provides a 3-month comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills training
  • Dialysis experience required, job shadow opportunities available

Pay and Schedule

  • Pay range from $20-$23 per hour, depending on healthcare experience
  • Schedule: Full-time, three 12-hour shifts, 6am-8pm; Sundays off; no overnight shifts
