Responsibilities
- Perform clinical and clerical tasks related to quality specimen collection (blood, urine, etc.) for diagnostic testing
- Deliver exceptional customer service to lab and imaging patients
- Assist patients with physical challenges during visits
- Draw blood and educate patients on proper specimen collection (urine, stool, etc.)
- Receive, label, and prepare specimens for transport
- Serve as a resource for patients and provider offices regarding testing needs, specimen collection, insurance requirements, and send-out labs
- Register patients, collect demographics and payments, and verify insurance eligibility
- Link orders to ensure accuracy and timeliness of test results for ordering providers
- Troubleshoot and resolve order issues
- Perform phlebotomy at various locations, including in-home, nursing homes, or alternate clinics
- Transport specimens as needed
- Work closely with the radiology team to assist with patient transfers
- Perform EKGs and other assigned duties
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Computer experience (preferred)
