Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - OBGYN, South Metro, Highlands Ranch (0.6 FTE)

Key Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for the diagnosis of disease in humans.
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders in order to perform the prescribed study.
• Maintains patient monitoring and records during the procedure.
• Communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, and referral.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Edits and educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
• Two to three (2-3) years of ultrasound technician experience.
• Four or more (4+) years of ultrasound technician experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
• Four or more (4+) years of ultrasound technician experience in an outpatient setting within specialty preferred.
• Valid Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• Registered as a Technologist (RT) and certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• State licensure if required by law.
