Diabetes Education Specialist (Dietitian)

About the role

We are seeking a Certified Diabetes Educator (Dietitian) to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate diabetes education programs in an outpatient setting. This role emphasizes patient education, professional development, and contributing to community health in an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a diabetes nutritionist
• Conduct continuing education for professionals and the public
• Provide patient and family education, especially during transitions from inpatient to outpatient care
• Respond to phone calls regarding sick day management and daily diabetes concerns for children, adolescents, and adults

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics
• Current license or registration in an allied health profession (e.g., Registered Dietitian)
• Ability to obtain CDCES certification within 1 year
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with knowledge of medical terminology, diagnosis, disease processes, and medical records standards
• Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and EMR documentation

Pay

Salary ranges from $34.62 to $57.19 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
