About the role

As a DeWALT Service Technician, you'll join our Product Services team working as an on-site employee in a production style environment. You'll handle repairs to all portable electric, pneumatic tool, construction equipment, and outdoor products, troubleshoot tool failures, assist with maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and manage inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Handle repairs to all portable electric, pneumatic tool, construction equipment, and outdoor products.
  • Troubleshoot tool failure—fully or partially disassemble units to examine components for wear/defects and replace parts as needed.
  • Absorb and analyze tool and equipment issues to ensure safe operation.
  • Perform performance and safety tests on equipment after repair.
  • Complete work orders using repair parts and labor, including pricing and pertinent customer information.
  • Manage inventory by ensuring accuracy with parts and accessories.
  • Achieve daily productivity goals on the amount of tools repaired.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret mechanical diagrams, wiring schematics, and printed servicing data.
  • Knowledge of electricity principles and air flow as they apply to power sources for power tools.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in power tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Goal-driven mentality, meeting and maintaining daily/weekly/quarterly productivity goals without compromising quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and adaptability in using various technological systems and familiarity with data entry and record-keeping systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience with basic electrical principles and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics and the ability to disassemble and reassemble tools.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and service guides.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Pay

$20/hr starting, with on-the-job training provided; experience preferred but not required.
