DevOps Engineer - Secret (Remote)
About the role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in automating, optimizing, and securing the delivery pipeline for enterprise-grade, mission-critical systems supporting our nation’s defense and security objectives. You will leverage your expertise in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and cloud-native technologies to drive operational efficiency and resilience across complex environments. Your hands-on approach to integrating DevSecOps best practices and innovative toolsets will ensure rapid, reliable deployments and robust system security, contributing directly to the transformation and modernization of essential government platforms.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the development of new software solutions and transition of existing solutions from monolithic structures to micro-service structure operating within hardened containers.
- Work with application development teams to refactor or create solutions that leverage the DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline and tools.
- Instruct and guide teams through their solution development.
- Deploy and sustain microservices factory utilizing COTS and open-source solutions.
- Drive strategy and oversee architecture of continuous integration and deployment, and monitoring across technologies.
- Lead DevOps methodologies and implement Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
- Drive automated software development lifecycle toolchain.
- Handle deployments in both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Serve as the engineer of complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment.
- Use DevOps services with infrastructure as a service providers (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, RackSpace/OpenStack).
- Use scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems.
- Work with configuration management tools (e.g., TFS, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, LVM).
- Utilize containerization technologies (e.g., LXC, Docker, Rocket, OpenShift).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of 5+ years Agile experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years relevant experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities listed.
- Active IT-II security clearance or current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at time of proposal submission.
- 8570 certifications (Security+).
- CSP Certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, Azure).
- Preferred SAFe Agile Certification or industry-recognized equivalent certification.
- Demonstrated experience with defining SAFe Agile methodology for large-scale clients.
