About the role

The Special Olympics Center for Inclusive Health is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Health and Wellness Specialist. This position will support athletes in developing and maintaining healthy lifestyles through various programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement health and wellness programs tailored to athletes' needs
• Collaborate with medical professionals to provide health screenings and assessments
• Facilitate workshops and educational sessions on topics such as nutrition, fitness, and mental health
• Maintain athlete health records and ensure compliance with health guidelines
• Engage with community partners to expand access to health resources

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Exercise Science, Nutrition, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in health promotion or related field
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and wellness best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
