Coordinator, Athlete Learning & Development
About the Role
The USOPC Athlete Development & Engagement team is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative learning and development professional who keeps an athlete-first mindset at the forefront of all decisions. The Athlete Learning & Development Coordinator supports the execution and delivery of learning and development strategies, initiatives, and programs that attract, educate, and encourage Team USA athletes to pursue excellence and well-being in sport and life. This role coordinates learning programs, manages logistics, supports content development, and enhances the overall athlete learning experience.
The Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Director, Learning & Development and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless delivery of educational opportunities, while helping to expand athlete access to resources, experiences, and development pathways that prepare them for long-term success during and after their athletic careers.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of learning and development programs, activities, and campaigns to engage Team USA athletes in educational opportunities off the field of play.
- Assist in the development and delivery of engaging learning experiences (face-to-face, virtual, and self-paced), including preparing materials, coordinating facilitators, and supporting program implementation.
- Provide project coordination for select programs within the USOPC’s learning and development portfolio, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and communications are effectively managed.
- Maintain and track program data, participation metrics, and feedback to support reporting, program evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Serve as a point of contact for athletes participating in learning programs, providing guidance, answering questions, and connecting them to appropriate resources and opportunities.
- Support onboarding and offboarding education programs for Team USA athletes, including logistics coordination, resource development, and participant communication.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support athlete engagement efforts, including drafting communications, updating content, and promoting learning opportunities across channels.
- Support the administration and ongoing maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS), including course uploads, learner tracking, reporting, and troubleshooting user issues.
- Coordinate logistics for key events such as the Team USA Athlete Summit, including registration, scheduling, materials preparation, and on-site support.
- Assist in the development and organization of pre-Games education programs, including content preparation, scheduling, and participant coordination.
- Monitor program budgets and expenses, assisting with tracking, reporting, and ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
- Contribute to team operations by maintaining organized systems, documentation, and processes that support efficient program delivery.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment through clear communication, accountability, and a commitment to excellent service for Team USA athletes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Degree in education, training, business, HR, communications, or related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., instructional design, learning & development, ATD) a plus.
- 1–3 years of experience in learning and development, program coordination, education, or a related field.
- Experience supporting program or event logistics and administration.
- Exposure to learning platforms (LMS) or e-learning tools preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build positive relationships.
- Basic understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other common workplace tools; experience with LMS platforms a plus.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to adjust priorities as needed.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
- Appreciation for sport and the ideals of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.
Work Environment
- Standard office equipment.
- Occasional non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Some domestic and international travel.
- Regular attendance at work is an essential job function.

Pay
Hiring pay range: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour.
Schedule
This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Temporary position intended to work 40 hours per week.
