Your Responsibilities
- Regional contact on appliance safety and regulatory compliance related topics.
- Provide guidance and ensure compliance with applicable laws, standards, regulations and policies related to product safety.
- Aid in regulatory relations associated with development and revision of appliance safety and sanitation related specifications, regulations and test procedures.
- Establish systems and methods, develop policies and procedures, involve necessary internal and external resources.
- Request required testing, evaluate test results, and maintain records.
- Obtain product approvals (i.e., UL, CSA, NSF, DOE, etc.).
- Assist engineering in meeting regulatory requirements for product development.
- Track and monitor changes to existing products and coordinate approval testing and submission processes.
- Research, interpret, and summarize proposed revisions to regulations and standards.
- Communicate/establish relationships with certification agencies and testing institutes (e.g., UL, CSA, NSF International).
- Organize product and component testing.
- Support cost reductions and quality improvements and implement on current products.
- Coordinate test criteria and test equipment/fixtures.
- Analyze data.
- Create internal test procedures and specialized test equipment as needed.
- Train personnel concerning test procedures.
- Participate as an engineering representative in product safety reviews.
- Provide technical support for legal issues related to product safety.
- Develop and maintain lab approval as related to Data Acceptance Program (ISO 17025) and oversee certification agency testing and procedures.
- Support other product areas concerning product safety certification as needed.
Your Profile
- Four-Year College (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) – Required
- 7-10 Years (Regulatory Compliance of appliances) – Required
- 10+ Years (Regulatory Compliance of appliances) – Preferred
- Engineering, development procedures and practices, problem solving, budget management, decision analysis, cost analysis, project management, product testing.
- Ability to interact with all levels of work place personnel.
- Good communication skills, good analysis skills, adaptability, knowledge of physical principles and how things work.
- Ability to make decisions in uncertainty.
- Ability to apply statistical techniques.
- Knowledge of National and Local Electrical and Plumbing codes.
- Literature research and constructive use of consultants.
- Good technical vision and imagination.
- Knowledge of MSOffice software; Excel and Word required.
- Product development knowledge of residential appliances, detailed product development knowledge of dishwashing products.
- Expert knowledge of Test Equipment and Test Standards.
- Expert knowledge of Certification Processes and Agencies.
- Expert knowledge of applied Engineering principles in electrical, mechanical and materials disciplines.
Your Pay & Benefits
- The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location.
- If the position is bonus or incentive eligible, then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
