Development Coordinator, Event Marketing and Media Relations
About the Role
The Development Coordinator is a programmatic support role within the Mass General Brigham Development Office and a key member of a dynamic team. With appropriate guidance, the Coordinator manages the creation and scheduling of social media content for philanthropic initiatives across MGB and partners with marketing and communications colleagues to support engaging stories and organizational priorities. This role requires basic content management, web, email, marketing, and design work, as well as administrative tasks including calendar management and scheduling, data entry, preparations and follow-up for meetings and events, among others.
This role is ideal for a motivated, collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to inform and help implement strategic, data-driven communication and marketing plans, while making a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Provide programmatic support for the Event Marketing and Media Relations team.
- Manage content calendar for fundraising-related content on social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Write, proof, and/or edit marketing content, including social media posts, newsletter features, and ad copy, to inspire philanthropic engagement and support institutional goals.
- Serve as a key liaison across departments, facilitating communication, gathering feedback, and managing expectations to keep projects on track.
- Monitor content performance, track project progress, and analyze data to provide actionable insights for continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
- Coordinate scheduling, prepare agendas and other materials, take notes, and organize follow-up actions for meetings.
- Maintain and organize files. Save documents and keep records.
- Gather and record data and action items in database and internal files, ensuring thorough documentation of fundraising activity and results.
- Assist in building slide decks, pulling reports, and analyzing data.
- Assist with daily administrative activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or relationship-building role.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational, time management, problem solving, and project management skills.
- Command of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- Competency using videoconferencing platforms (Zoom and Teams preferred).
- Knowledge of or an ability to learn new platforms, including content management systems (e.g., WordPress), project management software (e.g., Workfront), and analytics (e.g., Piwik).
- Attention to detail, creativity, and strong work ethic.
- Desire and motivation to learn about the organization and fundraising.
- Awareness of personal work styles in self and others.
- Adaptability and flexibility in times of shifting priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse audiences.

Pay
