Development Associate-Planned Giving

Location: New York, New York (midtown Manhattan, near Grand Central Terminal). Hybrid/remote work available.

About the role

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, rated among the best in the country, seeks a Development Associate to join its Planned Giving team. This role helps secure funding for priority projects through estate and trust gifts, as well as individual donors. You will ensure appropriate stewardship of gifts, collaborate with Legal Affairs and Finance, draft fundraising reports, maintain donor database records, and support Planned Giving marketing and events.

Responsibilities

• Draft letters for incoming estate and trust gifts.
• Communicate with Hospital departments, including Legal Affairs and Finance.
• Draft briefings, fundraising reports, and other written materials.
• Maintain filing systems and donor database records.
• Assist in producing and implementing Planned Giving marketing pieces and events, including coordinating mail-lists and print production.
• Answer phones and emails; respond to prospect inquiries.
• Submit invoices for payment and schedule meetings.
• Manage the Planned Giving Director’s calendar.
• Support the PG Director’s donor portfolio and maintain a small donor portfolio.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with fundraising databases like Salesforce is a plus.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Interest in building a non-profit development career and gaining exposure to fundraising.
• Self-motivated with the ability to problem-solve independently.
• Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Pay

Salary Range: $66,300–$89,000/year.
