Developer Relationship Lead

About the role

Join an early, fast-growing startup defining a new category at the intersection of data engineering and AI. Build the entire Dev Rel function from scratch. Influence product direction based on real-world engineering challenges and community feedback. Be a visible voice in one of the most exciting shifts in the data/AI ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Represent Upriver at meetups, conferences, panels, and community events.
• Create demos, samples, and hands-on tutorials that show how engineers can build with our platform and get value from day one.
• Engage deeply with data engineers, ML engineers, and platform teams, collecting insights and feeding them back into product.
• Build our early community presence through content, workshops, and collaboration with industry leaders.

Requirements

• Strong background in data engineering, ML engineering, or data science.
• Comfortable presenting, teaching, and breaking down complex technical concepts.
• Experience building demos, notebooks, blogs, or talks for developers.
• Proactive, community-minded, and excited to connect with engineers at scale.
• Based in SF or NY (preferred).
