Detox Counselor (Full-time, 30 hours/wk, Overnight)

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical services necessary for safe detoxification from alcohol and other drugs.
• Screens, admits, discharges, and refers Detox clients.
• Conducts individual counseling and alcohol education/skill-building sessions.
• Motivates Detox clients to seek treatment.
• Handles crises and client issues for all ATS clients.

Requirements

• One year experience in substance abuse treatment, emergency medical services, or CNA.
• Demonstrable progress towards obtaining a CSAC or master’s degree in behavioral health science annually.
• Knowledge of community resources and effective communication with outside agencies.
• Comfortable and supportive interaction with intoxicated persons.
• Ability to work as a team member and respond calmly to stressful situations and crises.
• Able to keep accurate records.
• Current CPR/First Aid Training.
