About the role
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician II to join our IT team. You will provide technical support, focusing on desktop hardware, software, and network connectivity. You will utilize Enterprise Endpoint Management Systems for deployment and management. This role focuses strictly on end-user devices and does not include core network or server administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to end-users.
- Manage, prioritize, and resolve support tickets within established SLAs.
- Provide technical support for desktop hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Utilize Enterprise Endpoint Management Systems for OS imaging and software deployment.
- Maintain documentation of desktop hardware, software, and network configurations.
- Maintain inventory of workstation hardware and software.
- Assist with Mobile Device Management (MDM) enrollment and policies.
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure teams to resolve escalated issues.
- Assist with the maintenance and administration of the desktop environment.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in technical desktop support.
- Experience managing and prioritizing queues within support ticketing systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office Suite/Microsoft 365.
- Understanding of Active Directory and Group Policies.
- Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and AD queries.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification (such as CompTIA Security+).
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Active Technical Certifications: CompTIA (A+, Network+, Linux+), Microsoft Certified Fundamentals/Associates, or equivalent industry credentials.
- Familiarity with Remote Support Tools and unattended installers.
- Experience with OS system imaging and deployment.
- Experience with Linux-based environments.

Pay
Base pay range is $27–35/hour, depending on qualifications.
