Desktop Support Technician - 17566
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 desktop and end-user support for hardware, software, operating system, application, and connectivity issues.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving Microsoft Windows 11, desktops, laptops, peripherals, and common enterprise applications.
- Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
- Troubleshoot Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN connectivity and client issues on Windows endpoints.
- Provide support through an IT ticketing system, including documenting troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and follow-up actions.
- Apply basic networking concepts, including IP addressing, DNS, and connectivity troubleshooting, when resolving user issues.
- Assist users with common cybersecurity-related issues, including MFA and phishing-related concerns, while following established security procedures.
- Follow standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and IT service management processes.
- Deliver professional, responsive, and customer-focused technical support.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Adapt to changing priorities and maintain service quality in a fast-paced support environment.
Required Skills/Education
- 1–5 years of experience in Desktop Support, Help Desk, Service Desk, IT Support, or End User Computing.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Experience troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect VPN client issues on Windows endpoints.
- Experience working with an IT ticketing system, preferably ServiceNow.
- Working knowledge of basic networking concepts, including IP and DNS.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as MFA, phishing, and endpoint security.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer-service orientation.
- Professional presence, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Able to follow established procedures and adapt effectively to a fast-paced technical support environment.
