About the role
The IT Support Technician – Second Shift plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production, warehouse, and business systems during non-standard business hours. This position is essential for minimizing downtime and aligning IT services with the operational demands of the second shift.
Responsibilities
- Provide after-hours technical support to address critical incidents and minimize operational disruptions
- Troubleshoot and resolve user issues related to system access, hardware, and applications
- Support production and warehouse systems to ensure uptime during second shift operations
- Maintain and track IT asset inventory, including equipment audits and usage monitoring
- Develop and maintain knowledge base documentation for common issues and resolutions
- Support MS Windows AD Administration
- Support and maintain handheld device admin (iPhone, Android phone, Zebra PDA)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT projects and operational support needs
- Support external partners (e.g., 3PL) and internal teams during second shift operations
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of IT support or service desk experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and user access issues
- Experience supporting production, warehouse, or manufacturing environments is a plus
- Ability to work independently during off-hours with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
