Designer - Workplace Interiors - Mid Level
About the Role
As a mid-level Gensler Designer with our team in Tampa, your role is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce purposeful, functional, and beautiful spaces for our clients in Workplace, Professional Services Firms, Financial Services Firms, or Headquarters. You have exceptional interior architecture and design skills, a background in interior design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will be an integral part of our teams and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment. You should have a great reputation in the design community.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver functional and beautiful workplaces for Technology, Financial Services Firms, Professional Services Firms, and many other types of organizations
- Perform interior design assignments that include interpreting client’s needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
- Deliver design solutions requiring independent judgment and application of best practices
- Responsible for the selection and presentation of furniture systems, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
- Generate design with 3D models, Revit, SketchUp, or other software; create digital 3D views to communicate design concepts
- Select interior finishes and reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
- Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
- Serve as a primary contact for external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
- Guide and mentor less experienced teammates
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited program
- 6-10 years of relevant experience with interior architecture / interior design, inclusive of 1+ years of Workplace, Professional Services Firms, Financial Services Firms, or Headquarters interior design (please highlight this experience in your portfolio and/or resume)
- Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, and AutoCAD
- Pursuit of NCIDQ certification is preferred
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or SPEXX is a plus
- Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Hand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plus
- LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices

Pay
Our annual base salary range has been established based on local markets.
