About the role
The Engineer I – EPC is an entry-level engineering position designed for those looking to grow their careers with a leading industry player. You'll have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects and gain valuable experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee or collaborate with Designers assigned to your work or team.
- Review, comment, and process equipment and system submittals.
- Coordinate between civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, operations, and field teams, and all electrical trades.
- Prepare designs, check, and specify power, lighting, and auxiliary systems for photovoltaic (PV), distributive generation (DG), battery energy storage systems (BESS), or medium voltage (MV) systems.
- Develop power single-line diagrams.
- Develop and model short circuits and over current protection device coordination studies.
- Coordinate your work with the project specifications or equipment manufacturers.
- Visit job sites to field survey existing electrical conditions under supervision.
- Become familiar with engineering analysis programs to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short circuit currents under the supervision of a senior engineer.
- Participate in project team meetings.
- Interface with various team members, architects, subcontractors, and engineers from other trades.
- Work closely with the engineering supervisor to understand design criteria and budgetary issues.
- Assist and develop skills with drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
- Affiliate with the review of plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates under the supervision of a senior engineer.
- Affiliate with the field observations, design interpretations, and design updates during construction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or equivalent experience.
- Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to learn Engineering Analytic programs for short circuits, over current coordination, and arc flash mitigation programs, e.g., SKM, E-Tap, etc.
- Develop familiarity with codes, and energy efficiency requirements.
- Ability to learn and become competent in AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Map3D, Autodesk Civil3D, Google Earth, PVsyst, PVcase, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), and Illuminance software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under the supervisor’s direction.
- Ability to work to meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
- Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $27.55 - $36.50 per hour. Candidate’s pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
Schedule
Up to 10% travel (does not include local field visits).
Working Conditions
- General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
- Primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level is usually low to medium.
- Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
Travel
Up to 10% (Does not include local field visits)
