About the role

As a Design Technologist at Prime Video, you'll be a key part of the Experience Design organization, proving, advancing, and evolving forward-thinking UX concepts through prototyping and hands-on product work. You'll collaborate with design leadership, stakeholders, designers, researchers, PMs, and engineers to bring design ideas to life and drive concepts from idea to implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Build high-quality, functional prototypes that convey and advance the vision of future products.
  • Collaborate with design leadership and key stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Work alongside designers, researchers, PMs, and engineers to drive concepts from idea to implementation.
  • Advance design thinking by leveraging your platform expertise (e.g., web, mobile, TV).
  • Develop prototypes using frontend technologies such as HTML/CSS/JS, React.js, Redux, and Motion.js.
  • Create prototypes using AWS Bedrock to envision new Gen AI-powered experiences.

A day in the life

You’ll build prototypes across the Prime Video customer journey, from content discovery to new playback experiences like X-Ray, live sports, and advertising. The team creates high-fidelity prototypes for TV, mobile, and web clients and partners with UX researchers to test new experiences with customers. Prototypes are demoed to senior leadership to showcase the future of Prime Video.

About the team

We’re scrappy yet detail-oriented, balancing speed with high-fidelity prototyping. We bring our own design vision while supporting design and engineering partners to help them ship faster. The team works closely with UX researchers to create and test new experiences, shaping the future of Prime Video.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience.
  • Available online portfolio.
  • Coding samples in front-end programming languages.
  • Experience with web, mobile web, or mobile app front-end development.
  • Experience with UI design for complex workflows and end users.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of JavaScript/NodeJS, HTML/CSS, and responsive/adaptive design.
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and source control (Git).
  • Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and SQS.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is:

  • USA, CA, Culver City: $131,800 - $178,300 USD annually
  • USA, CA, San Francisco: $151,600 - $205,000 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $131,800 - $178,300 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
