Design Technologist II, Prime Video
About the role
As a Design Technologist at Prime Video, you’ll shape the future of entertainment by defining the next generation of how and what Amazon customers watch. You’ll work closely with business and technology partners, using research, design, and prototyping to guide early product development, clarify engineering goals, and develop a customer-centric point of view.
Your role will focus on proving, advancing, and evolving forward-thinking UX concepts through prototyping and hands-on product work. You’ll collaborate with design leadership, designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to bring design ideas—interactions, visuals, and motion—to life across the Prime Video customer journey.
Responsibilities
- Build high-quality, functional prototypes that convey and advance the vision of future products.
- Collaborate with design leadership and key stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
- Work alongside designers, researchers, PMs, and engineers to drive concepts from idea to implementation.
- Advance design thinking by leveraging platform expertise (e.g., web, mobile, TV).
- Develop prototypes for TV, mobile, and web clients using frontend technologies such as HTML/CSS/JS, React.js, Redux, and Motion.js.
- Create prototypes using AWS Bedrock to envision new Gen AI-powered experiences for customers.
- Support UX researchers in testing new experiences with customers and incorporate feedback.
- Demo prototypes to senior leadership to showcase the future of Prime Video.

We bring our own design vision while supporting design and engineering partners to help them ship faster. Our work directly influences the future of Prime Video, from content discovery to playback experiences like X-Ray, live sports, and advertising.
Requirements
- 2+ years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience.
- An available online portfolio showcasing your work.
- Coding samples in front-end programming languages.
- Experience with web, mobile web, or mobile app front-end development.
- Experience with UI design for complex workflows and end users.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of JavaScript/NodeJS, HTML/CSS, and responsive/adaptive design.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, and source control (Git).
- Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and SQS.
Pay
Base salary ranges for this position:
- USA, CA, Culver City: $131,800 - $178,300 USD annually
- USA, CA, San Francisco: $151,600 - $205,000 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $131,800 - $178,300 USD annually
