Location: Hybrid onsite required 3 days per week in Austin, TX, Seattle, WA, New York City, NY, or San Francisco, CA. Additional 20% travel required as needed.

About the Role

The Capacity Delivery Team engineers gigawatts from drawing to energized in months, not years. The team owns technical execution across every build: drawings, field questions, and engineering calls that keep multiple concurrent gigawatt sites moving. Key problems include:

  • Engineering data centers that go up in months, not years—rework is not an option, so problems must be caught on paper or they cost a data hall.
  • Designing once and building it a hundred times—every site's lessons roll into the reference design to scale to 10s or 100s of gigawatts, ensuring each build starts ahead of the last.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design management across the build portfolio, unifying every site's design deliverables, consultants, and review cycles under one operating model.
  • Set the design schedule per site and hold architect and engineer of record firms accountable to it, escalating slips while recovery is still cost-effective.
  • Run the design review process to ensure packages clear constructability, cost, and reference-design conformance in one pass.
  • Own the interface between design and the field—RFI trends feed design fixes, not just answers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience leading design management, design delivery, or multidisciplinary engineering programs.
  • 5+ years managing architects, engineers of record (EORs), and external design consultants through SD, DD, CD, and IFC phases.
  • Proven experience leading design reviews across civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience holding design firms accountable to aggressive schedules, deliverable quality, and constructability requirements.
  • Demonstrated success identifying and resolving cross-discipline design conflicts before construction.
  • Experience translating field RFIs, commissioning findings, and lessons learned into improvements to future design standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hyperscale data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure experience.
  • Data center design programs, owner-side design management, modular and DfMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) delivery, or BIM-based review workflows.

Skills

We operate with:

  • Extreme ownership: Full autonomy, owning things end-to-end, often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.
  • Velocity: Driving everything forward as fast as possible.
  • First principles: Challenging every assumption, zero analogy thinking, no egos—the best idea wins.
  • Love of the game: Passion for pushing the frontier of AI, working long hours at high intensity to tackle the most interesting problems of our time.

What We're Looking For

  • Someone who has led design management on large industrial or mission-critical programs with multiple firms in flight.
  • Someone who has held design firms to schedules they called aggressive—and they delivered.
  • Someone who reads across disciplines well enough to catch cross-discipline gaps that single-discipline reviewers miss.
  • Someone who has built review processes that made packages better and faster simultaneously.

Pay

Salary range: $275,000–$340,000 per year plus equity.

Benefits

Full-time roles are eligible for:

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Commuter benefits.
  • 401K with company matching.
