Design Management Lead
About the role
The Capacity Delivery Team at Fluidstack is responsible for engineering gigawatts from drawing to energized, in months not years. This role leads design management across the build portfolio, ensuring all site design deliverables, consultants, and review cycles are managed under one operating model. Key responsibilities include setting the design schedule per site, holding architects and engineers of record firms accountable to it, and escalating delays while recovery is still relatively inexpensive. Additionally, the role involves running the design review process to ensure packages meet constructability, cost, and reference-design standards in a single pass. The ideal candidate should have experience leading design management on large industrial or mission-critical programs with multiple firms in flight, holding those firms to aggressive schedules, and building review processes that improve packages and speed up the design cycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead design management across the build portfolio: every site's design deliverables, consultants, and review cycles under one operating model.
- Set the design schedule per site and hold architect and engineer of record firms to it, escalating slips while recovery is cheap.
- Run the design review machine so packages clear constructability, cost, and reference-design conformance in one pass.
- Own the interface between design and the field: RFI trends feed design fixes, not just answers.
