Design Intern
About the role
We’re looking for a talented, motivated Design Intern with a killer portfolio and obsessive attention to detail. This isn’t a “sit in the corner and resize banners” internship (ok, maybe some ad resizing). You’ll work directly with our Creative, Strategy, and Technology teams to help bring real campaigns and brands to life.
If you tweak type for fun. If bad spacing bothers you. If you care way too much about alignment. If you push ideas further than required and polish them until they’re undeniable, we want to see your work.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Creative, Strategy, and Technology teams to develop smart, innovative solutions
- Concept original ideas that simplify complex problems
- Execute visual design from concept through final production
- Present and defend your work in internal reviews
- Follow brand guidelines and best practices across multiple client brands
- Maintain clean, organized files according to Recess standards
- Deliver high-quality work within defined timelines
- Obsess over craft and final output quality
Requirements
- College-level experience in design, graphic design, visual communication, or related field
- A multi-faceted portfolio (branding, digital, social, motion, print, etc)
- Strong understanding of design fundamentals (typography, color, layout, hierarchy)
- Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to take ideas from concept to execution
- Clear communication skills and comfort in critique sessions
- A desire to push beyond “expected” creative
- Ensure the quality of the end product
Pay
Paid ($17–$20 per hour, depending on experience)
Schedule
16–40 hours per week, depending on availability
Hybrid / In-person (Northeast Ohio)
4-month term, with potential for extension or longer-term role
We’re open to recent grads, soon-to-be grads, or current students as long as the work is strong.
