Design Engineer, Powersports

About the role

Contribute to developing prototypes for ATV/SxS vehicles by researching and applying new technologies, supporting business goals, and maintaining global vehicle quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop component and system layouts using CAD software.
• Communicate specifications and create detailed drawings for prototypes and production models.
• Optimize designs to meet cost targets and contribute ideas for technological innovations.
• Manage project schedules, coordinate resources, and participate in meetings.
• Support quality initiatives through root cause analysis and specification development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience in automotive or powersports preferred.

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, and confidentiality skills.
• Proficiency in Failure Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Understanding of dimensional tolerances and CAD techniques.
• Knowledge of product development processes.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems effectively.

Work Conditions

• Occasional travel.
• Primarily desk work with some physical activity.
• Awareness of office/shop hazards.
• Overtime as needed.
• Adherence to safety and departmental policies is essential.
