Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom Onshape features in FeatureScript that run in production and hold up to daily use.
- Augment Onshape workflows by building out tooling and integrating with systems outside of Onshape via Onshape APIs.
- Expanding the capabilities and uses (skills) of our modeling MCP built on top of Onshape APIs
- Build automation that integrates MEP constraints and augments device and fixture placement.
- Build automated code-compliance checking, e.g. outlet placement, egress, tempered windows requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to raise efficiency and throughput across design and manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Prior knowledge or experience in architecture or construction is not required. We'll get you up to speed.
- Must Have: BS in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering, or computer science. 2+ years of hands-on experience with parametric design (Onshape, Autodesk Fusion, SolidWorks, etc.). Experience building custom features in Onshape with FeatureScript. General coding experience, ideally in Go, Python, or C#. Experience using coding agents to build prototypes, work with others, and get to a solution quickly. A 0-to-1 builder.
- Nice to Have: Experience with the Onshape API or building integrations and apps beyond FeatureScript. General software engineering experience: automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and alerting, debugging and root cause analysis. Experience in a manufacturing, DFMA, or a hardware product setting. Familiarity with CAD-to-fabrication workflows (CAM, CNC).
