CAD Automation Design Engineer
About the role
The CAD Automation Design Engineer will support the optimization of existing products and the automation of CAD generation for custom-engineered projects using DriveWorks. The role serves as the in-house expert and champion for DriveWorks-based automation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks
- Automate the creation of SolidWorks projects using DriveWorks
- Incorporate engineering calculations into DriveWorks
- Work with the factory to improve manufacturing methods
- Collaborate with Combustion designers and Fuel Handling designers to enhance CAD design methods
Requirements
- Absolutely required: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Design; or Associates in Mechanical Design with Logic Programming experience
- Preferred: Proficiency in DriveWorks
- Required: Proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, sheet-metal, assemblies, and drawings)
- Experience with DraftSight, AutoCAD, or similar 2D software
- Experience in MS Excel rule and function-based automation
- Experience in MS Office tools
- Attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Pay
$80,000 - $110,000 based on experience

Qualifications
Absolutely required: Minimum of BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Design; or Associates in Mechanical Design with Logic Programming experience. Associates or similar in Mechanical Design with Logic Programming experience will be considered.
Preferred: Proficiency in DriveWorks
Required: Proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, sheet-metal, assemblies, and drawings)
Experience with DraftSight, AutoCAD, or similar 2D software
Experience in MS Excel rule and function-based automation
Experience in MS Office tools
Attention to detail
Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
