CAD Automation Design Engineer

About the role

The CAD Automation Design Engineer will support the optimization of existing products and the automation of CAD generation for custom-engineered projects using DriveWorks. The role serves as the in-house expert and champion for DriveWorks-based automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks
  • Automate the creation of SolidWorks projects using DriveWorks
  • Incorporate engineering calculations into DriveWorks
  • Work with the factory to improve manufacturing methods
  • Collaborate with Combustion designers and Fuel Handling designers to enhance CAD design methods

Requirements

  • Absolutely required: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Design; or Associates in Mechanical Design with Logic Programming experience
  • Preferred: Proficiency in DriveWorks
  • Required: Proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, sheet-metal, assemblies, and drawings)
  • Experience with DraftSight, AutoCAD, or similar 2D software
  • Experience in MS Excel rule and function-based automation
  • Experience in MS Office tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Pay

$80,000 - $110,000 based on experience

Qualifications

Absolutely required: Minimum of BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Design; or Associates in Mechanical Design with Logic Programming experience. Associates or similar in Mechanical Design with Logic Programming experience will be considered.

Preferred: Proficiency in DriveWorks

Required: Proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, sheet-metal, assemblies, and drawings)

Experience with DraftSight, AutoCAD, or similar 2D software

Experience in MS Excel rule and function-based automation

Experience in MS Office tools

Attention to detail

Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Skills

  • Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in logic-based automation and rule development
  • Proficiency in DriveWorks
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, sheet-metal, assemblies, and drawings)
  • Some experience with 2D software
  • Experience in MS Excel rule and function-based automation
