About the role

Assists Design Consultant in scheduling, preparing, and following up on design services with Havertys customers. Attends clients’ homes with Design Consultant to ensure proper furniture placement and color coordination, recommends additional furniture and accessories for the room design as needed, and assists with in-store engagements and appointments.

Position may involve sales training directly on the sales floor to enable an understanding of the Havertys customer engagement process.

Responsibilities

  • Once introduced to the client, assists Design Consultant and/or Sales Consultant by scheduling or attending a scheduled qualified home visit.
  • Visits customers’ homes with Design Consultant, as applicable.
  • Assists Design Consultant with all aspects of in-home visits.
  • Assists Design Consultant with building a personalized presentation using approved template and SWAGGER display, including colors, furniture placement, visual samples, room plans, and accessories.
  • May draw floor plans using Havertys.com current floor planner software.
  • Provides feedback with Design Consultant, Sales Consultant, and Management after each home visit, upon completion of the floor plan, and post-purchase presentation.
  • Assists Sales Consultant with the creation of special-order SKUs and sales reserves.
  • Assists Sales Consultant with the creation of floor plans for in-store clients to help visualize purchases and close sales.
  • Provides constructive feedback to Design Consultant to help build the sale and increase average ticket.
  • Has knowledge of special sales, financing plans, delivery procedures, warranties, etc.
  • Reinforces customer selections and helps bring sales to closure.
  • May use My Sales Center to access and follow up with customers.
  • Maintains knowledge of a broad range of furniture styles and products.

Position requires evening and weekend work at hours convenient to the customer’s schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in interior design or related field; or 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASID certification preferred.
  • Current valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable personal transportation with verification of minimum state-required car insurance.
  • Knowledge of email and systems such as Room Planner software, Microsoft Office components, Internet software, and Full-shot image ware.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move more than 20 pounds.
