Dermatology Medical Assistant - Monroe, NC

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs and detailed medical histories
• Aid physicians during examinations and dermatologic procedures by providing necessary support and equipment
• Perform basic laboratory tests and manage specimen collection and handling
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Schedule patient appointments and facilitate efficient communication within the practice
• Inform patients about treatment plans, medications, and effective skincare routines
• Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and fully stocked with appropriate medical supplies

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred
• Experience working as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical healthcare environment is highly desirable
• Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to dermatology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information professionally
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and common office software applications is an advantage
