As a Dermatology Medical Assistant in Greenville, NC, you will play a vital role in delivering quality patient care and ensuring operational efficiency within our practice.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories
- Assist the physician during examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary instruments and equipment
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and handle specimens for analysis
- Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Manage patient scheduling and office communication effectively
- Educate patients on treatment options, medications, and appropriate skincare practices
- Keep examination rooms clean and adequately stocked with supplies
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting is highly desirable
- Understanding of medical terminology, especially in dermatology
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with patients and staff
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic office applications is a plus
