About the role
The UCF Department of Medicine is seeking a dermatologist to lead the newly formed Division of Dermatology. The Division will operate under the College of Medicine and the UCF Faculty Practice, aiming to enhance clinical services, expand research, and develop educational programs.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and manage multiple general dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery faculty for the UCF Health Faculty Practice.
- Collaborate with faculty in other COM specialties to establish clinical programs of excellence.
- Optimize operational performance of the Division's faculty to deliver superior medical care.
- Expand clinical and translational research with a focus on hypothesis-driven studies and external funding.
- Facilitate the start of a Dermatology Residency Program and enrich the medical school curriculum.
- Incorporate dermatology rotations into the Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship Program.
- Establish co-specialty clinics and provide mentorship and career guidance for trainees and faculty.
- Lead the Department, College, and University by participating in committees and supporting the community.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited university.
- Board certification in dermatology.
- Three years of postgraduate clinical practice in an academic institution.
- Experience building, leading, or expanding a program, division, institute, or clinical service group.
- Experience in dermatology didactic or clinical instruction at the medical school level.
- Track record of research and peer-reviewed publications in dermatology.
- Experience in developing dermatology technology and research in the fields of optics and photonics.

- A demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment.
