Dermatology Division Chief (Associate or Professor of Medicine)

About the role

The opportunity is to lead the newly formed UCF Department of Medicine's Dermatology Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the clinical service lines, expanding research initiatives, and establishing a dermatology residency program.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and lead multiple general dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery faculty for UCF Health Faculty Practice
• Collaborate with faculty in other COM specialties to establish clinical programs of excellence
• Optimize operational performance of the Division's faculty
• Facilitate clinical and translational research, including hypothesis-driven investigator-initiated externally funded studies
• Plan and facilitate a Dermatology Residency Program
• Enrich the medical school dermatology curriculum with new faculty
• Incorporate dermatology rotations into the Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship Program
• Establish co-specialty clinics such as dermatology-rheumatology
• Mentor and guide COM’s trainees and faculty
• Provide leadership, personal, and Divisional service to the Department, College, and University

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited university
• Board certified in dermatology
• Three years of postgraduate clinical practice in an academic institution
• Experience building, leading, or expanding a program, division, institute, or equivalent responsibility within an academic or academically affiliated organization
• Experience in clinical practice administration, management, or related academic leadership
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated strong organization and process management skills
• Research and publication experience in dermatology
• Experience in dermatology didactic or clinical instruction at the medical school level
• Leadership experience as a director for a busy general dermatology practice
• Experience in collaborations for the development of dermatology technology and research in the fields of optics and photonics

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: MD or DO degree, board certified in dermatology, three years of postgraduate clinical practice in an academic institution, previous experience building, leading, or expanding a program, division, institute, or equivalent responsibility within an academic or academically affiliated organization, experience in clinical practice administration, management, or related academic leadership, outstanding written and oral communication skills, demonstrated strong organization and process management skills, research and publication experience in dermatology, experience in dermatology didactic or clinical instruction at the medical school level, leadership experience as a director for a busy general dermatology practice, experience in collaborations for the development of dermatology technology and research in the fields of optics and photonics.
