About the role

The Marin County Sheriff's Office seeks to partner with its communities to provide leadership and excellence in public safety. This role involves working alongside the department to ensure a safe environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Satisfactorily complete the POST basic course (Academy) within 12 months of appointment.
  • Knowledge of working knowledge of the mission of a Sheriff’s Department and the role of a peace officer.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to pass the POST basic course (Academy) within 12 months of appointment.
  • Minimum age of 20.5 years old by the application filing deadline and 21 years old by the date of hire.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • California Class C Driver's License by the time of appointment.

Qualifications

  • College-level course work in law enforcement, criminal justice, criminology, or a field related to the work is highly desirable.
  • Applicants must be willing to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Skills

  • Knowledge of working knowledge of the mission of a Sheriff’s Department and the role of a peace officer.
