Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a prominent presence at the Judicial Center, 100 Broad Street, Charleston, SC, ensuring court security across various judicial settings.
• Engage with the public.
• Craft detailed reports.
• Address callouts.
• Serve as an official within the Court system.

Requirements

• Average workweek of 30-35 hours, typically between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00pm.
• Must pass the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy's 10-day Limited Duty Training Program.
• Must obtain firearms and taser certifications within the first year of employment.

Qualifications

• Be a Citizen of the United States.
• Retired sworn law enforcement officer (Class 1 or 3).
• Possess a current valid SC driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one.
• Honorably discharged from the military (if applicable).
• No pending cases or criminal felony convictions (misdemeanors may require expungement).
• No THC or Marijuana use within 365 days; some drugs are automatic disqualifiers.
• No student loans in default status.

Pay

HIRING HOURLY: $26.19
