Essential Functions
- Patrol assigned areas
- Transport mentally ill persons to appropriate institutions
- Serve Court Orders
- Investigate violations of law
- Appear as court witnesses
- Replevin property under Court Order
- Carry out eviction procedures
- Collect delinquent taxes
- Conduct Sheriff's sales required by law
- Investigate accidents and render aid to the public
- Make reports
- Book, guard, and transport prisoners as required by law and by the Sheriff
- Provide Court security and supervise civilian employees of the Sheriff's Office when necessary
Education
- Graduated from high school or equivalent (G.E.D)
Character
- Must be of good character
- No disregard of the law that would impair usefulness as an employee
Physical Requirements
- Vision: 20/200 uncorrected to 20/20 corrected
- Normal depth perception
- No permanent or ocular abnormality including color blindness
- No indication of organic, active, or irreversible disease of the ear
- Hearing must be such that the applicant can understandably receive frequencies of normal voice range
Licenses
- Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License
