The Middlesex County Sheriff's Office is seeking a dedicated person who is passionate about serving and protecting our community. This position requires an individual that is willing and comfortable in engaging in various law enforcement activities that protect lives, property, and public rights.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
- Serve civil and criminal documents.
- Conduct thorough criminal investigations, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
- Write detailed reports documenting incidents, investigations, and arrests.
- Enforce laws and regulations, including traffic laws and ordinances.
- Manage conflicts effectively to ensure public safety.
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Handle animals safely and humanely when required.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on joint operations.
- Participate in community outreach programs to foster positive relationships with residents.
Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet established medical requirements.
- Be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to complete the Basic Law Enforcement Academy program as offered by the DCJS within one year of employment.
- Possess a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with a good driving record.
- No felony or misdemeanor convictions.
Pay
$55,532.00 - $59,994.00 per year
